Granted, we live in a crazy world – probably thanks in part to overstretched schedules and near-impossible deadlines. On a normal day, you’ll be lucky to have a minute to spare.

Does your busy schedule then make it impossible for you to make time for personal grooming? A lot of people are busy, but that doesn’t mean you don’t want to look your best. With proper planning, you do not need tons of time to look glamorous – in fact ten minutes or less is all you need.

Know What Works For You And Highlight It

The real secret to glam make up is identifying your face’s special feature that you would like to stand out. It becomes your focal point – almost ensuring nobody will notice that you have not worked so extravagantly on the rest of the face.

Oftentimes, your pleasant and inviting personality might mean that you’ll spend most of the day (whether on a night out or in the office) talking and smiling. Your lips then become the focal point. You can never go wrong with red lipstick but you need to know how to apply it. For a soft effect, avoid applying lipstick directly from the tube.

You should first run a wet washcloth over the lips. You could also purchase and use a lip scrub as this will help clear your lips of chaps. Proceed then to apply a lip balm and top it off with your desired lip color of choice.

Invest In Good Liners

How your lipstick eventually turns out is influenced in a big way by the liner you use. The secret is to use a lip liner that is complementary to the color of the lipstick you wish to wear – you should therefore use a red liner if you are wearing red lipstick. A good liner helps lock the color in your lips so you do not need to worry about touching-up your lips after you have left the house.

In addition, if you are working on your eyes (which we will discuss later), invest in an eyeliner that may be a little pricier but adds more consistent pigment. This will elevate your look.

Work On Your Brows

Nothing could be more attention-catching than straight eyebrows and once you get this right, you need very little additional make up. Straight brows give you a fresh, radiant and youthful look (contrast this with the appearance you make with arched or thin eyebrows) because they look most natural.

Getting your eyebrows straight hardly takes any effort and certainly saves you time. If your brow ends have hair curving downwards, you can gently remove these with a razor.

Should hair removal not appeal to you, you could also get the straight brow look with the aid of make up. You can straighten your brow by using eyebrow powder or an eye pencil. While time-saving, this is a temporary solution so you might need to consider having the hairs at the end of your brows shaped by a professional.

Focus On The Eyes

If straight brows fail to work for you, another time-saving technique would be to highlight your eyes. How about using a metallic or darker eye shadow on only the corners of your eyes to create the impression of a smoky eye? Top off with mascara and you will be good to go.
